Newburyport

Come for a walk with me….

Breaking away from Newbury MA in 1764, Newburyport became a major ship building port (over 2000 ships were built here) and it became known as “The Clipper City”. The ships were sent out to all corners of the world in trade and the city prospered. There are many aspects of the city that attract me and I will show you some examples. Of course there is a basic attraction to me, the oldest site in the city (some describe it as the Holy Grail) named “Watts’ Cellar 1630”. “A landmark before the settlement of Newbury in 1635. An excavation used for the storage of fish by fisherman who visited the New England Coast”. Maybe I’m related?
